Is the TV bright enough for outdoor use?
Yes. With 1,000 nits peak brightness and an anti-glare panel coating, the Lifestyle Plus MX remains clearly visible even in bright sunlight.By comparison, a standard indoor TV typically reaches 250–400 nits, which renders the screen near-invisible outdoors in daylight. The higher brightness combined with the anti-glare treatment means you get a vibrant, watchable picture from morning through to evening, without needing shade structures or awnings.
How easy is it to install?
Installation is straightforward. The Lifestyle Plus MX is compatible with standard VESA mounting patterns and comes with a mounting bracket included. Most AV installers can complete a wall mount in under two hours. For weatherproofing the cable entry point, we recommend using a weatherproof conduit or gland — your installer will advise.
How do I mount the TV?
The TV is VESA-compatible and a mounting bracket is included in the box. Wall mount the bracket using fixings appropriate to your wall type (masonry anchors for brick/stone, structural fixings for timber-frame). Ensure the mount location allows for cable routing to a weatherproof socket or conduit entry point. For roof-mounted or freestanding pole installations, contact us for advice on compatible third-party mounting solutions.
Can the ProofVision Lifestyle Plus MX handle year-round use?
Yes. The Lifestyle Plus MX is engineered for continuous outdoor use across all UK seasons. Its IP55 rating protects against rain, condensation and dust, and the unit is designed to operate in temperatures from −20°C to +45°C, so it performs reliably through British winters and summer heatwaves. No covers or storage are required between uses.
Does the TV work with home automation systems?
Yes. The Lifestyle Plus MX supports IP control, making it fully compatible with leading home automation platforms including Crestron, Control4 and RTI. This means it can be integrated into whole-home or whole-venue AV control systems, allowing the TV to be switched on, off or adjusted as part of automated scenes and schedules. RS232 control is also supported for legacy systems.

Yes. Every ProofVision Lifestyle Plus MX comes with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. What is the difference between an outdoor TV and an indoor TV?
An outdoor TV is purpose-built to withstand moisture, temperature extremes, dust and bright sunlight — an indoor TV is not. Outdoor TVs like the ProofVision Lifestyle Plus MX carry an IP (Ingress Protection) rating, meaning the enclosure is sealed against water and dust to a certified standard. They also use significantly brighter panels (typically 700–1,500 nits vs. 250–400 nits for indoor TVs) to remain visible in daylight. Using an indoor TV outside voids its warranty, creates a fire and electrical hazard in wet conditions, and typically results in screen failure.
Can I leave a ProofVision outdoor TV outside all year in the UK?
Yes. The Lifestyle Plus MX is designed to be permanently installed outdoors and requires no seasonal removal or protective covering. Its IP55 rating protects against rain, condensation and wind-blown dust, and its operating temperature range (−20°C to +45°C) comfortably covers all UK weather conditions. The unit does not require a waterproof cover between uses.

For a pub garden or commercial venue, you need a TV rated for continuous use, with sufficient brightness for daytime viewing and an appropriate IP rating for outdoor installation. It is available in 55”, 65” and 75” sizes; for most pub gardens and beer terraces, the 65” is the most popular choice, balancing screen size with installation practicality.
What size outdoor TV do I need for my garden?
The right size depends on your typical viewing distance. As a general guide: a 55” outdoor TV suits viewing distances of 2–3.5 metres and works well for covered seating areas and smaller gardens. A 65” is ideal for 3–5 metres and suits most standard garden patio setups. A 75” suits distances of 4.5 metres or more and is best for larger outdoor spaces or open terraces. If in doubt, size up rather than down — outdoor spaces feel larger than interiors, and a screen that reads well inside may feel small when mounted externally with more ambient light and a wider field of view.
