Took about 20 minutes to swap the units out and it all looks really neat without having the toothbrush charger cable hanging loose or being knocked out.

FAQs

What zones can I install the TBCharge in a bathroom?
The TBCharge models are all manufactured with a minimum IPX4 water ingress protection rating so they are suitable to be installed in a bathroom environment.
We recommend that they are only installed in zones 2 or 3, which means they cannot be installed directly next to a bathtub.
  • Oral-B: Works with most models, including iO2–iO6. (Not compatible with iO7–iO10 or Pulsonic series.)
  • Philips: Works with most models, including 1000–7000 Series. (Not compatible with 9000 Series, DiamondClean, DiamondClean Smart, or DiamondClean Prestige.)
The charging current is so low that leaving a toothbrush handle on constant charge will not be an issue regarding product longevity or safety. The induction charging current depends on the toothbrush model being charged, but in all cases, it is low (10s of milliamps). Therefore, the battery is never really regarded as full even when it reaches its maximum capacity, it is simultaneously losing charge, and at this stage, it is in “maintenance mode”.

For the lower-end Vitality model, which has a NI-MH battery, the Oral B website recommends that “for optimal performance, you can keep your Vitality brush always on the connected charger when not in use”. This will also apply to other models with NI-MH batteries.

Higher-end models with li-ion batteries will usually have overcharging protections for additional safety.
There are 2 variations available of the faceplates for the TBCharge range:

1. The Original TBCharge (PV10P) has its own unique faceplate range as detailed below.
  1. PV10-PS-FR – Polished Steel
  2. PV10-BS-FR – Brushed Steel
  3. PV10-B-FR – Matt Black

2. The Dual TBCharge (PV11P) and TBCharge with Shaver Socket (PV12P) use the same faceplate model as detailed in the list below.
  1. PV11-PS-FR – Polished Steel
  2. PV11-BS-FR – Brushed Steel
  3. PV11-B-FR – Matt Black
  4. PV11-BRS-FR – Brushed Brass

The TB charge range of products are supplied with an Isolating transformer, similar to a shaver socket, and should be considered the same as a shaver socket for installation purposes.

There are 3 options

1. Replacing an existing shaver socket
This is the simplest install, and the wiring should simply be swapped from the existing shaver socket to the TB Charge product

Where no existing power supply exists you will need to use options 2 or 3

2. Existing lighting circuit
Taking a feed wire from the bathroom lighting circuit to connect to the charger. This is generally the most popular method as an existing 15 Amp lighting circuit should be present in most bathrooms. This should be connected with 1mm twin & earth cable from the permanent live loop in the ceiling to the TBCharge

3. Existing socket circuit
If taking a feed from a 30 Amp socket (power) circuit, its essential that a FCU fused at a maximum of 3 amps is placed between the charger and the power circuit. The cable from the existing socket circuit to the FCU should be 2.5mm twin and earth and the cable from the FCU to the TBCharge should be 1mm twin and earth.

All Electrical circuits should be protected with Earth leak Curcuit breakers (ELCB).
Option 1 can be completed by a competent person.
Options 2 & 3 should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

If you are unsure on installation, please contact ProofVision on either 0203 4111 693 or technical@proofvision.co.uk
The ProofVision TBCharge models are not able to be surface mounted, only embedded into the wall using a double-gang knockout box.

The dimensions of the charger are larger than the standard dimensions of a surface mount box.
